From Bump to Baby

We have been working with this beautiful family over the past few years and this is our second time around capturing this glowing mama’s perfect bump and second baby boy. We got just a light dusting of snow before their bump session and it made our private outdoor location even more magical! A few weeks later we met them at our newborn suite to capture their newest addition, and we think it is safe to say he is adored by them all! Enjoy some of our faves from each session below.

Growing Families

Baby #3 arrived for this sweet family, and they finally got a boy. We have captured each of their precious newborns and just when you think they cant get any sweeter, they somehow do! It was so fun capturing the love this family had for their new baby boy, and you can just see how smitten his big sisters are about him. We are looking forward to watching him grow!

A "Classic" Family Session

We were contacted with a special request to capture a Christmas surprise for this family’s Pap. He absolutely loves vintage trucks and what better way to celebrate him than to do a surprise meetup in a field with an old red truck?! After having fun capturing this family’s love for each other, Pap even got a chance to hop in the truck and go for a drive. Thankful they chose us to photograph this meaningful time for their family.

The golden hour didn't disappoint through this session — we always chase the best light, angels, and surroundings that match styles. From Bump to Baby

We enjoyed working with this beautiful couple to capture their growing family. We met them outside with their first fur baby to show the glowing mamas growing belly. A few weeks later we met them in our newborn suite to photograph the new addition….and oh how cute!! She was such a dream…from staying sleepy to flashing the sweetest smiles, we were in love at first sight.

From new father photoshoot to author of New Mom's Guide to New Dads

I can distinctly remember having our preemie twins in a photoshoot at the Mudpies studio, which, somehow, was five years ago. Or yesterday. It all seems the same.

My wife and I fell in love with the work of the Mudpies team that we saw adorning the walls inside Wellspan York Hospital near the NICU. When we found out they can expertly handle premature babies, we were sold.

At that point, with so much uncertainty in those early days of our second and third kids (we had a 2-year-old son as well), we would take any certainty we could get.

The girls ended up looking absolutely perfect, as did our son with a bashful smile as he was placed near them. My wife looked gorgeous holding them, too.

In the years since, we’ve done many Mudpies shoots, with their work now adorning our own walls. Newborns becoming infants. Infants becoming (loud) toddlers. Toddlers becoming… well some days it seems like teenagers but the calendar says they are 5, 5, and almost 7.

I’ve grown a lot, too, since those early days. I learned how much pressure is on a mom to do everything for everyone. And how expectations vary so much for dads — it was a surprise to see a dad in the NICU, for instance.

That all helped inspire me to write The New Mom’s Guide to New Dads, my effort to help mothers understand what it’s like to be that anxious, confused new father who is trying to pretend he has it together. I tell my own stories of #dadlife, tap into expert advice, and mostly help new moms get into the mentality of a new dad so they can have better conversations and a better, shared empathy for each other.

I don’t know what life will bring me next as a dad. Who knows what our next portrait will be like — what stories we’ll have shared since the last one. But I do know we are all better when we improve our communication and understand that there’s a lot more that goes into parenting than the perfect Instagram shot or the memorable canvas that hands on a wall. All of the life that happens in between those moments — that’s what makes those picture-perfect moments worth saving.

You're about to be a BIG BROTHER!!

What an exciting promotion…becoming a Big Bro!! This little guy cannot wait, or so he thinks, lol!! We can only hope that his baby sister loves the camera as much as he does. We love to be able to incorporate some indoor and outdoor shots in these bump sessions. It was actually fairly cold the day of this session, but momma was a champ about it. And she could not have been more stunning in this mauve gown. She and her 2 handsome boys made our job easy. We can’t wait to meet you baby girl!

Meeting Baby B

We have been working with this sweet family for years and were so excited to meet their newest addition. Big brother was so proud to show him off as well and not even being two years old, he did just as amazing as his little brother. Down on the Farm

We have been blessed to be able to watch this wonderful family grow into a tribe of four. We recently captured big brothers 2nd birthday milestone as well as the birth announcement on their family farm so it was no shock when Mommy and Daddy requested some themes including tractors and anything farm or horse related. Baby was 4 weeks old during the session but slept like a dream and we were able to capture some amazing memories for this sweet family. It's Never Too Late!

In case you missed that first 2 to 3 week window for newborn pictures, it’s not too late to make sure you get some amazing pictures. This little guy was about 10 weeks old when he came into our newborn studio suite. He may have traded his sleepy eyes for some smiles but hey, no one is complaining!

Baby A: 4 Weeks Old

At four weeks old, this little angel was such a dream in our newborn suite when she came to visit. We consult with our parents about style and themes and this mama did an awesome job of colors she liked and wanted to incorporate their love for traveling. It looks like there are big plans for the future of this baby!

Sweet Summertime
